Soatsintle – Her eyes; Her Story presents the “Cihuatl: I Woman” dance production on Saturday June 27th at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. This production explores themes related to Mexican mythology, the challenges and attributes of women in history through artistic expression. It features dances such as “Danza del Venado” (The Deer Dance), “Bailes de Salon” (Ballroom Dances), “Mascara de Jade” (Pre-Hispanic Mayan), and “The Forgotten Women” (Afro-Mexican Women). It is a blend of pre-hispanic and contemporary dances that will highlight the richness of Mexican art and culture.
