Heejung Kwon is a Korean-born, San Diego–based abstract artist whose practice centers on human emotion, mental wellness, and the interconnectedness of living beings. Working primarily in expressive abstract forms, she examines the dynamic tension between chaos and harmony. Drawing from her Korean heritage, Kwon integrates symbolic motifs, layered textures, and intuitive color relationships that echo cultural memory and ancestral narrative. Her work often explores themes of resilience, emotional renewal, and the quiet stories carried through generational experience. Through her paintings, she seeks to create moments of reflection—inviting viewers to reconnect with their inner worlds, reconsider emotional states, and find beauty within both disorder and calm.
