About the Dish: Varenyky are traditional Ukrainian dumplings made from unleavened dough with various fillings such as potato, cheese, sauerkraut, mushrooms, or fruit. They are typically served with sour cream or fried onions — a comforting symbol of Ukrainian hospitality.

In 2025, our "Beyond Boba" festival expanded to 1500+ attendees and showcased the high quality items and creations by Taiwanese and Taiwanese American companies. TAP-SD’s 3rd annual Taiwan Festival will be on August 22, 2026 from 1-5pm at NTC Park (Liberty Station)! Kumiko has been used in constructing shoji screens, latticework, and other decorative elements in traditional Japanese architecture. In this workshop, Instructor Michael Olin guides students as they learn the basics of kumiko, including the use of hand tools to cut the pieces and assemble the frame. Each student will work on a small project to finish and take home.
