Paola Capó-García will share from her most recent works, including the award-winning poetry collection "Clap For Me That's Not Me," celebrated as "gut-wrenching, yummy, hilarious, and tender but importantly, never quite soothing." Capó-García is a poet and educator from San Juan, Puerto Rico, who currently designs professional development opportunities for educators and mentors early-career teachers. Her poems have appeared in The Volta, The Texas Review, Latino Book Review, jubilat, Poetry Society of America, Academy of American Poets, and others. She currently resides in San Diego, where she will serve as the City's Poet Laureate from 2025 to 2027.
