In 2025, our "Beyond Boba" festival expanded to 1500+ attendees and showcased the high quality items and creations by Taiwanese and Taiwanese American companies. TAP-SD’s 3rd annual Taiwan Festival will be on August 22, 2026 from 1-5pm at NTC Park (Liberty Station)! | 2:00 PM | Kumiko Woodworking Workshop Kumiko is an ancient Japanese woodworking technique of assembling individual pieces of wood, without the use of nails, into geometric patterns. Kumiko has been used in constructing shoji screens, latticework, and other decorative elements in traditional Japanese architecture. In this workshop, Instructor Michael Olin guides students as they learn the basics of kumiko, including the use of hand tools to cut the pieces and assemble the frame. Each student will work on a small project to finish and take home.
