September's Lunch & Learn deviates a bit from our usual gatherings, in that our featured "Speaker" is a short film. However, through the film, Lana, an artist and First Nation woman, tells her story of healing from the family trauma incurred through Indian Residential Schools in Canada, which were run by faith communities of particular Christian denominations. The United States has a similar history and more urgently, could be looking at a near future in which people of faith are called to respond to families being separated and children torn from their families and culture. Let us proactively look at how to help mitigate the situation while honoring all people and families.
