The San Diego Museum of Art presents a film in conjunction with its Reflections On Monet exhibit.

I, Claude Monet is a fresh look at the artist's live, directed by the award-winning Phil Grabsky.

The film pairs excerpts from over 2,500 of Monet?s letters with the paintings he was working on at the time and contemporary views of the environments in which he worked. It provides insight into the painter?s process and creative translation of nature, and his perseverance and dedication in the face of hardship and discouragement.

Before the screening, Eric Haskell, Professor of French and Humanities and Director of the Clark Humanities Museum at Scripps College, will present a lecture on the relationship between Claude Monet?s gardening practices and painterly techniques.

The lecture begins at 7:00 PM, the film at 8:00 PM For tickets and additional details call (619) 232-7931.
