Join us for a free lecture and short concert, featuring the mbira (thumb piano) music of Zimbabwe. Lewis Peterman, our guide, was director of musicology and ethnomusicology in the School of Music and Dance at San Diego State University prior to his retirement. Past president of the Center for World Music, he performs both early European music on period instruments and traditional Shona mbira music from Zimbabwe.
