40 North Dance Festival received 106 submissions from 19 countries and is a true representation of this innovative art form that blends dance and camera choreography to create unique visual experiences. 36 film selections will screen in three events, each in a different location, over two weekends. Dance film is the next prominent platform for dance and an essential venue of exploration for movement artists.
Enjoy a program of short films from both local and international filmmakers alike, showcasing work from cutting edge professional filmmakers as well as an outstanding international student selection. Expect a wide range of film styles ? including narrative, fashion, animation, experimental, and documentary ? focusing on and blending all forms of dance and movement on screen.
