What recourse could there be for a Hungarian Jew in 1943, able to anticipate his fate but powerless to save himself? In The Revolt of Job the Jewish farmer of the title attempts the illicit act of adopting a Christian child, hoping that the boy will be able to carry on his tradition and possess his legacy. The latter involves more than mere worldly goods, although Job is a prosperous man. During the course of the story, Job (Ferenc Zenthe) teaches young Lacko (Gabor Feher) as much as he can about his life, his values, and his God.
