Come and experience Odissi, one of the classical dances of India through a lecture-recital presented by the Center for World Music?s Odissi school. This presentation includes a lecture on the history of Odissi dance from its origin to its present-day form. The lecture will be followed by a presentation by Rajesh Kumar Palai, master teacher visiting from Odisha, India, as well as students from the Odissi school demonstrating the language of Odissi in a short recital.
