Discussion: Israel Consul General

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Long a contentious region, the Middle East has become dangerously destabilized as the Syrian civil war rages on. Non-state actors such as ISIS and Hezbollah seem ascendant, Iraq is fractured, Turkey?s role is in flux. Competition between Saudi Arabia and Iran has intensified, and waves of refugees pour across regional borders and into Europe. What does this new Middle East portend?

David Siegel will be giving Israel's perspective. He assumed the post of Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles in August 2011, where he serves as the senior representative of the State of Israel to the Southwestern United States.

Most recently, Mr. Siegel served as Chief of Staff to Israel?s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. In this role, he was involved in policy formulation and decision-making at the senior levels of Israel?s foreign policy establishment.
