New Fortune Theatre Company announces its company launch and inaugural production of HENRY V by William Shakespeare. HENRY V opens (Fortunately) this October 25 on Crispin?s Day, exactly 599 years to the day since an exhausted and beleaguered English expeditionary force led by a newly crowned young king turned at bay to meet a larger, fresher, and better-armed French Army in a muddy field near an obscure castle called Agincourt.
Production will be co-directed by longtime theatre veterans Richard Baird and Matt Henerson, and will feature Baird in the title role, alongside an all-star San Diego cast.
A savage, funny, touching and brutal play about war, the men who wage it, and the price it exacts from all who are touched by it.
