The traditional Day of the Dead celebration for 2014 is taking on a decidedly nonreligious atmosphere this year for area Hispanics and others from various cultures as the Dia de los Muertos event goes secular!
Participants are encouraged to bring a framed photograph or portrait of a deceased loved one to be placed on a Secular Day of the Dead table of honor. Attendees are invited to talk about favorite memories and the legacy of the person who died -- in essence, bringing that person back to life with a spoken remembrance.
Child-friendly activities include a pi?ata, face painting, dancing, and traditional foods.
RSVP with the Humanist Fellowship of San Diego on their website.
Admission/Cost: FREE
