Exhibition: Works of Li Huai

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum presents the latest exhibition of original work by renowned artist and scholar, Li Huai. This exhibition of works incorporating Chinese ink, charcoal, phosphorescent paint, wax on paper and canvas will be on display through December 6, 2014.

The process of conveying and sharing ideas among various cultures and peoples has been one Li Huai?s key artistic research interests for quite some time. Formally trained as a filmmaker, she deals with the impact of accumulated visual information and accumulated time - and their representations. The central theme of this body of work is inspired by a recent visit to China. These images function as a vehicle for engaging with the problems of information and interpretation. The structure of the exhibition space of the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum provides wonderful supporting elements for our imaginings and interpretations.
