German Currents San Diego celebrates its 4th Annual Festival of German Film on October 11 & 12, 2014. Presented by the German American San Diego Foundation, the Festival will showcase four film screenings.

The Festival will kick off on Saturday the 11th at 5:30 PM with a Pre-Film VIP Reception on the El Mirador rooftop terrace of the San Diego Natural History Museum (theNat) in Balboa Park. At 6:30pm, the award-winning opening film "The Dark Valley" ("Das Finstere Tal") will be screened at theNAT's state-of-the-art Charmain and Maurice Kaplan movie theater. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers in attendance and a Gala Reception at Natural History Museum's Sefton Atrium. The evening will be moderated by the popular German-American actress Elisabeth R?hm, best-known for her recurring role in the TV series Law and Order.

On Sunday, October 12, the Festival will continue with three additional award-winning German-language films being shown at the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Theater at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) in Balboa Park.

All films are presented in German with English subtitles.

Admission/Cost: Saturday $60 Pre-film Reception, Gala and Film, $40 Gala and Film. Sunday Films (each): $14 - Students & Seniors w/ID: $12 - Children 12 years and under: $9
