Join the San Diego History Center in celebrating the 86th Anniversary of the Junipero Serra Museum, the site of the birthplace of California.
The third annual Serra Open House will celebrate life on Presidio Hill from its indigenous beginnings.
A family-friendly event, featuring hands-on history games and crafts for kids, historical reenactments, a community quilting project, and a musket-fired salute in honor of San Diego's birthday! Refreshments and live music will add to the festive ambiance.
Rudy Shappee, curator at the USS Midway Museum, historian and author, will speak on Feeding a Garrison: Daily Life in San Diego's Military Outposts.
