Film: Cartas de Sorolla

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Cartas de Sorolla (Sorolla's Letters) tells the story of the Valencian painter Joaqu?n Sorolla's two passions: his love for his wife and family and his drive for perfection in his work.

Based on the correspondence Sorolla sent to his wife, Clotilde, while traveling to complete a commission for the Hispanic Society of America, this film recreates Valencia in the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the different cities he visited. This commission, entitled the Visions of Spain, is above all responsible for Sorolla?s enduring reputation in the United States.

This program will be presented entirely in Spanish, without subtitles or English interpretation.
