The Book of Mormon follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys, Elder Cunningham and Elder Price, sent on a mission to Uganda, Africa. Elder Cunningham has never actually read the Book of Mormon and is far more interested in Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. Elder Price is a human Ken doll who is filled with confidence and dreams of moving to Orlando. Once in Africa, the boys are given the mission of converting villagers living in abject poverty and suffering from AIDS. The suffering Ugandans are understandably cynical and bitter toward God. Arrogant and culturally ignorant, Price completely fails in his attempts to convert the Ugandans to Mormonism. He soon gives up and requests a transfer to Orlando. Meanwhile, Cunningham surprisingly manages to convert the villagers by combining a little bit of Mormonism with a lot of science fiction and made up stories.
