Talk: Preventing Mass Atrocities

Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
This reception and panel discussion serve as the opening event for "Rwanda, 1994 - 2014: Seven Photographers," produced by USD's University Galleries and Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies. The event brings together more than two dozen works by leading photographers and conceptual artists who were in Rwanda at the time of the genocide or else who have visited the nation since.

Taken together, the photographic imagery displayed at USD reminds us of the significance of this humanitarian crisis, as well as its painful aftermath, and causes us to ponder the peacetime solutions at work within the region.

The event will begin with a reception and gallery tour at 5:00 PM in the Fine Art Galleries of the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies.

There will be a panel discussion from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Peace and Justice Theatre.
