San Diego?s Virtual Strangers present a three-part lecture-concert series. Band members Mike and Yvonne Tatar, Kit Birkett, and Jon Cherry bring a series of presentations on everything you wanted to know about bluegrass music but weren?t sure if you should ask.
The Virtual Strangers will present easy and entertaining bluegrass music basics, the history of bluegrass, and current bluegrass music. Each 35-minute lecture will be followed by a 45-minute bluegrass music concert.
Program:
May 21 - Bluegrass 101: Learn the basics of bluegrass music and what makes this music unique.
May 28 - The History of Bluegrass: Explore the roots and growth of bluegrass music. As America grew, so did its music and bluegrass.
June 4 - Bluegrass Music Today: Discuss the expansion of bluegrass and where it is today, along with a glimpse into its future.
