Dr. Suzanne Cahill, a Tang dynasty specialist, will deliver insights into Chinese beliefs about the relation between the living and the dead as revealed by artifacts excavated from ancient tombs near Xi'an.
She is a professor of History and East Asian studies at UCSD who has published widely on Chinese art, religion, literature, gender studies and material culture.
